After flying from his home in Wichita, Kan., to San Francisco, Mike Pelfrey experienced neck stiffness. That resulted in the Mets pushing his start from Saturday night to Monday in Arizona. Hisanori Takahashi will pitch Saturday.

The New York Mets are pushing Mike Pelfrey’s next start to Monday after the right-hander complained of stiffness in his neck following a flight to San Francisco earlier in the week. Pelfrey (10-4) was scheduled to pitch against the Giants on Saturday but will take the mound against Arizona instead.
