New York (AP) — In the year of the pitcher, no-hit aces Ubaldo Jimenez and Roy Halladay lead a formidable National League All-Star staff. Rookie sensation Stephen Strasburg will have to wait at least another season before he gets the nod.

Giants pitchers Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson will play on the National League All-Star team. For the A’s, Trevor Cahill will be a part of the American League pitching staff.

Not much else going on in the NFL world today.

The San Diego Padres stayed atop the National League West by beating the San Francisco Giants 3-1 on Monday — their seventh straight win against their divisional rival. Adrian Gonzalez homered for the Padres, who staged a form reversal, as they were coming off three straight losses while the Giants entered with three consecutive wins.
